We believe in promoting mutual respect and understanding between Muslims and people of other faith throughout the UK and Europe. It is here also very important always to help Non-Muslim communities and organizations to understand that Islam as a peaceful religion and that we are as Muslims open to dialogue on all matters regarding faith.
The Interfaith activities of the mosque include facilitating group visits, training for non-Muslim professionals, consultation with statutory and lectures and conferences on Islam in Universities, colleges, schools, Churches and other faith establishments.
Makkah Masjid’s active involvement with local and county wide interfaith based groups, councils and forums has provided a strong foundation for the goals of such interfaith activities to yield productive outcomes.
Makkah Masjid fully supports the recent call by 100 prominent Muslim scholars for unity and collaboration around the shared principles of Love of God and Love of one’s neighbor. Please see a copy of the letter addressed to Christian clergy, scholars and leaders at:
