Makkah Masjid is pleased to announce the launch of two booklets, 24 Hours: 100 Actions & Seeking Allah’s Protection complied by Imam of Makkah Masjid and published by Deen Foundation.

24 Hours: 100 Actions by Qari Muhammad Asim

The crown of creation, Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is a role model for all Muslims. Every activity in his life was guided by his main objective of living and sharing Allah’s religion for a happy life on Earth and in the Hereafter. His words and actions have been preserved to guide everyone to live a balanced and successful life in this world and attain salvation in the Hereafter.

There are thousands of actions/sunnahs of the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) that can be performed. Deen Foundation is pleased to launch the publication of a pocket sized booklet containing some of the ahadith which can easily be followed in our daily lives without any difficulty. The booklet provides guidance on every waking moment; from the moment one awakes in the morning to the moment one goes to sleep and all that comes in between, such as eating and drinking, getting dressed, going out to work or study, dealings with one’s family and neighbours and hygiene and appearance.

The pocket sized booklet has been designed so that brothers and sisters can easily remind themselves of these sunnahs in whatever situation they find themselves in. The selected ahadith are a combination of positive actions that should be consciously followed and basic principles that should form part of one’s subconscious mind. The Prophet (peace be upon him) has said: “At the time of corruption, if one revives the Sunnah, one will be rewarded to the equivalent of one hundred martyrs in Islam.” [Baihiqi]

Sponsored by Al-Haqq Education Trust (Leeds, UK).

The booklet is distributed FREE for Isal-e-Thawab of Professor Imam Hafiz Fateh Muhammad (ra), Malik Muhammad Amin and family.

————————————–

Seeking Allah’s Protection by Qari Muhammad Asim

In today’s fast paced life, when everyone is in search of short cuts to success without suffering any physical and financial loss, we seem to forget the One who controls our affairs. We tend to forget the Prophetic guidance, which has been laid down for us so that we gain peace of mind and remain under the protection of our Lord by staying in touch with Him throughout the day and night.

There are hundreds of supplications made by the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) seeking Allah’s help in every situation that we face. Deen Foundation is pleased to launch the publication of a pocket sized booklet consisting of some of the ahadith which tell us what we should recite in the morning and evening to save ourselves from any harm and remain under the protection of the Lord of the Heavens and the Earth. The pocket sized booklet has been designed so that brothers and sisters can recite these words while walking, driving, relaxing, waiting around, working at shops or offices. If a person cannot recite in Arabic, then he should at least try to read the translation so that he can derive some benefit from it.

The supplications contained in this booklet are divided into three parts: (1) those supplications that are to be recited in this morning and evening; (2) comprehensive Qur’anic and sunnah supplication/du’a; and (3) salutation/darood on the beloved Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him).

A medicine tends to only work when a patient also considers his diet and refrains from eating those things which will harm him. Similarly, those who refrain from sins will experience the full benefit of supplicating to Allah. If they occasionally make a mistake and commit a sin, they immediately turn to Allah and seek forgiveness from Him. Therefore, it is important to avoid committing sins in order to achieve the benefits of reciting these prayers and remain under the protection of the Lord.

The booklet is distributed FREE for Isal-e-Thawab of Professor Shaykh Hafiz Fateh Muhammad, Malik Muhammad Amin and family.

End of a year and begining of a New Year is time for reflection and hope. It is time to renew one’s pledge with Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

LOVE OF ALLAH, THE MOST HIGH

According to the Glorious Qur’an, the love of Allah shall increase by following in the footsteps of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

Shaykh Ibn al-Qayyim sets out the following 10 ways to enhance one’s love of Allah:

First: Reciting the Glorious Qur’an, reflecting and understanding its meaning and its intent.

Second: Drawing closer to Allah through optional(nafal) deeds, after fulfilling the obligatory duties.

Third: Being continuous in the dhikr (remembrance) of Allah, with the tongue, the heart and the limbs, under all circumstances. The more continuant the dhikr, the more love develops and intensifies.

Fourth: Giving precedence to what pleases Allah over personal desires and pleasures.

Fifth: Contemplating and deliberating over the Names and Attributes of Allah.

Sixth: Recognizing and remembering the favors and bounties of Allah – both manifest and hidden.

Seventh: To be humble and submit to the will of Allah – and this is the greatest matter.

Eighth: To be in seclusion reciting the Qur’an, seeking Allah’s forgiveness and repenting to Him, during the last third of every night, which is the time in which Allah descends to the lowest heaven.

Ninth: To sit in the gatherings of the true and sincere lovers of Allah, reaping the fruits of their speech, and not to speak except if there is benefit in it and that you know that such talk will increase you in goodness and that it will benefit others as well.

Tenth: To stay clear of all those causes which distances the heart from Allah.

Adapted from Shaykh Ibn Qayyim’s Madarij-us-Saalikeen

AHADITH ABOUT THE LOVE OF THE PROPHET (PEACE BE UPON HIM)

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, ‘None of you will believe until I am more beloved to him than his children, his father and all people.’ (al-Bukhari, Muslim & an-Nasa’i)

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him)said, ‘There are three things which cause anyone who takes refuge in them to experience the sweetness of belief – that Allah and His Messenger are more beloved to him than anything else; that he loves a man only for Allah; and that he dislikes the thought of reverting to disbelief as much as he would dislike being cast into the Fire.’ (al-Bukhari & Muslim)

‘Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) told the Prophet (peace be upon him), ‘I love you more than anything except my soul which is between my two sides’ The Prophet replied, ‘None of you will believe until I am dearer to him than his own soul.’ ‘Umar said, ‘By the One who sent down the Book on you, I love you more than my soul which is between my two sides.’ The Prophet said, ”Umar, now you have it!’ (al-Bukhari)

Makkah Masjid is a purpose built masjid that was opened in August 2003. It is a three storey building, with the lower floor dedicated specifically for sisters’ use. The masjid has a total capacity of approximately 25000. For this event, brothers will be accommodated in two large halls on the ground and upper floor. Map for Leeds Makkah Masjid

If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact the masjid, or telephone the mobile number as on the poster for the event.

Sheikh Nuh Keller is one of the most authoritative voices of traditional, moderate Islam in the English-speaking world. He embraced over 30 years ago and since then he has devoted himself to the service of Islam.

Shaikh Nuh Ha Mim Keller has a wide following of students including in countries such as the United States, Canada, England, and Australia—as well as Turkey, Pakistan, and the Middle East.

In addition to teaching Sufism, Shaykh Nuh has written several books and articles on a wide range of subjects. Perhaps his most important work to date is the voluminous Reliance of the Traveler, an annotated English translation of ‘Umdat al-Salik, a Shafi’i legal work by Ahmad ibn Naqib al-Misri (d.769/1368). It contains over six thousand legal rulings, and was the first English translation of an Islamic legal work to be certified by al-Azhar University.

For further details about Sheikh Nuh Keller and his work, please click on the following links:

http://shadhilitariqa.com/site/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3

http://www.masud.co.uk/ISLAM/nuh/

Tasawwuf is a branch of Islamic knowledge which focuses on the spiritual development of a Muslim. The goal of Tasawwuf is complete submission to the Shariah and Sunnah in order to attain purification of the heart and soul and to develop a deep and strong connection with Allah.

Data Uthman Ali al-Hujwiri (d. 465/1072) states that “Tasawwuf is not composed of practices (rusum) and sciences (‘ulum), but it is akhlaq.”

Wa Llahu lahu ul-haqqi wa huwa yahdis-sabil.
Hasbuna Llahu wahdahu wa ni’mal-wakil.
Wa salli ‘ala Sayyadina Muhammadin
wa aalihi wa sahbihi ajma’in
wal-hamdu li-Llahi rabb il-’alamin.

Truth belongs to Allah; it is He who shows the way.
Allah, alone, suffices us, and what a fine guardian is He!
Blessings upon our Master Muhammad
and his Family and Companions altogether
and praise is due to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.

Follwing is a great couplet from the poetry of Maulana Jami, a great poet of the Holy Prophet.

O Messenger of God! If only like the dog of the Companions of the Cave,
I could be in Paradise among your Companions.
Is it right that their dog is in Paradise while I am in Hell?
He was the dog of those Companions; I am the dog of yours!

See the Persian text

The above couplet reminds of another great verse which goes seomthing like;

Oh Holy Prophet, would that your dog was called Jami
You would call for your dog and I would come running.

Can we have the same level of love for the Holy Prophet as Maulana Jami had????
