Grand Milad-un-Nabi Event/ Jalsa

The main Milad-un-Nabi event will be held on Sunday 20 January from 4:30pm to 7.30pm to celebrate the birth, life and legacy of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

Talks will be given by Scholars of Islam and Nasheed/ Na’at will be sung by renowned Na’at Khawan.

Key Guests will include:

Various Milad-un-Nabi Events

Rabi’ul-Awwal is the most significant month in the Islamic history, because humanity has been blessed in this month by the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam.

In addition to the main event on Sunday 20 January 4:30pm, the following events shall take place:

1. Children’s event – Friday 1 February @ 4:30pm at Almadina Jamia Masjid

2. Mehfil-e-Na’at – Friday 1 February @ 7:30pm at Makkah Masjid. Most of the Na’at khawan that have come from Pakistan will be attending and delivering their presentations.

3. Sisters only Eid Milad-un-Nabi (peace be upon him) event on Saturday 2 February at Makkah Mosque, starting at 1pm. Naats, nasheeds and speeches will be delivered by sisters.

4. Monthly Seerah Circle about the life of the Prophet (peace be upon him) on Sunday 3 February @ 5:30pm at Makkah Masjid.

Milad-un-Nabi Mubarak

Today, 13 January 2013, is the first day of the month of Rabi-ul-Awal, third Islamic month.

It is the month in which the Mercy to all the Worlds, Saviour of Mankind, Beloved of Allah, Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was born.

Muslims all over the world thank Allah, specifically, in this month for sending the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to this world. Through him, we have been able to learn about Allah, Qur’an and Islam.

We wish everyone Milad-un-Nabi Mubarak.

We urge everyone to recite darood/salwat on the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) daily to increase in love for Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him).

Talks will be given by Scholars of Islam and Nasheed/ Na’at will be sung by renowned Na’at Khawan.

Events in Rabi-Ul-Awwal

The blessed month of Rabi-Ul-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic calendar has dawned upon us. As per previous years, a number of events will be organised by Leeds Makkah Masjid and Deen Foundation during this month.

The Meaning of the word “Rabi-ul-Awwal” is the first month of spring.

Rabi’ul-Awwal is the most significant month in the Islamic history, because humanity has been blessed in this month by the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam.

The events are as follows:

1. Saturday evening Study circles about “Know Your Prophet”.

2. Forced Marriage -v- Arranged Marriage event will be held on Wednesday 1 February between 6-8pm.

3. Sisters only Eid Milad-un-Nabi (peace be upon him) event will be held at Makkah Mosque on Sunday 5 February 2012, starting at 12pm. Naats, nasheeds and speeches will be delivered by sisters.

4.  The main Grand Mawlid/Milad-un-Nabi event will be held on Saturday 11 February from 4pm.

KNOW YOUR PROPHET (peace be upon him)

Every Saturday evening during the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal (28th January, 4th February, 11 February and 18th February) a study circle on the topic of “Know Your Prophet” (peace be upon him) will be held.

The following topics will be covered from the noble life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, (sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam):

 1. From Creation to the blessed Birth – Saturday 28th January

 2. Analysis of the concept of celebrating Milad-un-Nabi – Saturday 4th February

 3. Sublime life style of the Prophet (peace be upon him) – Saturday 11th February

 4. Status of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in Islam- Saturday 17th February

The study circles will start after maghrib prayer, around 5pmtill 6:30pm..

Grand Milad un-Nabi 2011- Celebrating the Blessed Life of the Most Beloved of Allah

To express happiness, demonstrate joy and delight at the blessed birth of the Last and Final Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Muslims of Leeds, as always, will be holding a number of Eid Milad-un-Nabi events at Makkah Masjid and Madina Masjid.

  Spend the Day with the One that You Love the Most

On 14th February 2011, Muslims of Leeds will be spending the day with the one that they love the most – one and only prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). All day long at Al-Madina Jamia Masjid on Brudenell Grove Leeds, Muslims will be doing zikr and fikr and sending slawat/salutations and durood on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

After the maghrib prayer on 14th Febraury 2011, to mark the night of the blessed birth of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) (i.e 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal night), a special gathering of children and adults will be held at Al-Madina Jamia Masjid where talks will be given in honour and praise of Rasullullah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

The main Milad-un-Nabi event will be held on Saturday 19 February from 4pm to 7.30pm to celebrate the birth, life and legacy of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

Talks will be given by Scholars of Islam and Nasheed/ Na’at will be sung by renowned Na’at Khawan.

Key Guests will include:

1. Qari Najum-ul-Mustafa - Qari of National Assembley, Pakistan 

2. Syed Sabih-ud- Din Rahmani, QTV – http://sabihrehmani.niceboard.biz/forum

It is narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came out one day and said, “Yesterday I saw [something] astonishing …I saw a man from my community who was dragging himself on the ṣirāṭ [bridge over hellfire in the hereafter] one time and crawling another time, then the prayers he sent upon me took him by the hand and made him firm on the ṣirāṭ until he crossed it.”

Mild-un-Nabi 2011

In order to begin the celebrations in the blessed month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, Makkah Masjid has invited Qari Syed Sadaqat Ali, a disciple of the internationally renowned late Qari Abdul Basit Abdul Samad of Egypt, to recite the Holy Qur’an in his award winning melodious voice. Qari Sadaqat is internationally renowned for his excellent recitation of the Holy Qur’an, and has won awards and accolades across the world for his recitation skills. Qari Sadaqat will inshaAllah fill Makkah Mosque with his awe-inspiring, reverberating recitations from the Holy Qur’an.

Qari Syed Sadaqat Ali will recite at Makkah Masjid on 1st Rabbi-ul-Awwal, Friday 4th Februray  after Jummah prayer.

 Mild-un-Nabi event will be held at Makkah Masjid on Saturday 19th Feb after Asr prayer.

Learning about the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) – some brothers discuss the benefits of attending such mahafil

By the grace of Allah Almighty, during the blessed month of RabbiulAwwal, Makkah Masjid held many different events to commemorate and honour the blessed life of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

There were programmes for the Leeds wide communities in which Muslims and non-Muslims participated. There were also some programmes specifically for sisters and children.
