Last 10 Nights of Ramadan & Shab-e-Qadr

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to strive even harder in worship during the last ten days of Ramadan in a way that he did not strive at any other times. [Muslim].

Shab Qadr, meaning the Night of Power enjoys superiority over all the nights of the year as a night Shab-e-Qadr is better than 1000 months. The Glorious Quran says : “Surely We revealed it (the Noble Quran) on the grand night. And what will make you comprehend what the grand night. The grand night is better than a thousand months. The angels and Gibreel descend in it by the permission of their Lord for every affair, Peace! It is till the break of the morning.” (97:1-5)

In other words, this night is better than worshipping 83 years and 4 months in terms of its reward. Lailatul Qadr is when everything is at its best, the Divine Mercy and Forgiveness is also at its best.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has also encouraged Muslims to find the  night of  Shab-e-Qadr/ Laylat-ul-Qadr / the Night of Power in the odd numbered nights in the last ten nights of the blessed month of Ramadan. [Bukhari] In other words, 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th or 29th night of Ramadan could be Shab-e-Qadr.

Special devotion should be made to Allah in these nights. One may engage in lengthy rakaats of additional prayer (nawafil), Tilaawat of the Qur’an, Zikr, Dua, salawat/darood on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), giving charity etc .

Special Du’a of Lailatul Qadr:
“ALLAH HUMMA INNAKA A’FUVUN TOHIB BUL AFVA FA’AFU ANNI” [Tirmidhi]
“O Allah! You are the Forgiver and You like forgiving so forgive me”

Dear brothers and sisters in Islam. I hope Ramadan has gone really well so far for you all, ameen.

I want people’s opinion on this matter. Throughout Ramadan, if one is taying staedfast and trying to avoid arguments, trying to avoid chaos and corruption, what can one do when these things re-occur throughout each week? If youhave neighbours (namely Muslims) who taunt you, use rude gestures, swear at you, belittle you, and backbite about you, what can one do?

What if these Muslims are the daughters and garndchildren of a deceased Muazzin of the mosque? Also, is it such a sin to teach about the deen to your next door neuighbour? Try to convey a peaceful message to them, and they take offence and give you a long winded leacrtire about a religion they doint even knwo about. PLus they get their (ex)husband to blast away Reggae tunes on his large speakers in his car right in front of the house whilst a Muslimah is on itkaaf inside!

What is this world coming to. When you deliver the message of Islam you are classed as bad, when you tryt to seek peace , you end up in turmoil. Where have all the good people gone? Where has the peace and love gone? What has this haert done to deserve this hatred and melancholy? I ask you, why???

One thing I forgot to mention, was that the so called Christian lady who lives next door has said that the Muslimah is “hiding away from people” an dthings like “this a public raod, we can do what we want” and “I dont do what you guys do, like dish out leaflets or preach about religion, even though I am a Catholic”; this is her interpretation of itkaaf. All the Muslimah saoid was could you keep the noise levels down during the last 10 days of Ramadan whilst she was on itkaaf.
