TAJWEED AND TAFSEER STUDY CIRCLE
admin3 on January 23rd, 2009
Following completion of the basic fiqh of salah, we are now studying the 30th Juz of the Holy Qur’an. The Circle is conducted by Qari Hafiz Muhammad Asim, and we are going through correct recitation as well as the meaning and explanation. We are starting with the last Surahs.
We commence after Isha prayer, and the Circle lasts for between 20-25 minutes.
Brothers and sisters are welcome to attend.

As Salaam A’laykum
Are the Fiqh classes seperated or are brothers and sisters together in one room? i.e are the sisters based downstairs and listen through the speaker and the brothers are upstairs with Hafiz? Could you please let me know…

At present attendance from sisters has not been overwhelming to say the least! But when any sisters do attend, then they pray Isha downstairs in the sisters area and listen to the class through our speaker system as per usual.
Jsut inform one of the brothers and the downstairs entrance will be opened insha Allah.

It is encouraging to see that mosque caters for men and women. Unfortunately, when I have attended these kind of courses before there are not many sisters present.

I have been attending this study circle and have found them very useful.

I got a story to tell about our beloved recently deceased Shaykh Professor Hafiz Fateh Muhammad Sahib.
The very day before he passed away i saw him walking through the leeds university near the parkinson building heading towards the city centre,
The story begins with me and my friend sat on some stairs nearby, smoking cannabis, the smell must have been strong and as hafiz sahib approached we never saw him coming, i will remember this moment for the rest of my life when i saw his reaction to what we was doing, he gave us a look that indicated how heartbroken he must have felt seeing us lads from the local community, he definately recognised us and knew which families we belonged to. He looked deeply sadenned by what he saw and walked away with his head down. He seemed very sad.
The following day i was at a takeaway next to the mosque minutes after the news broke about Hafiz Sahib had passed away, tears came to my eyes and images flashed through my head seeing the Hafiz Sahib so heartbroke when he saw what me and my friend were doing. Within minutes everyone in the local community had gathered and heard the news which shows just how much our Hafiz Sahib was an important icon and role model in our community. I feel really ashamed and to this day i have not told anyone about what had happened till now, please forgive me Allah SWT.
This is the state of the ummah today and we need to wake our brothers and sisters up, im perhaps not a very good muslim becuase i have forgotten my nammaz and havent gone back to friday prayer in ages, i feel deep regret and wish to learn my namaaz. But i always try to give dawah to eager listeners, and do alot of research about islam on the internet, one thing i have not yet achieved is learning namaaz because i feel ashamed to walk into mosque and say i cant read namaaz.

Subhanallah – I also learnt my namaaz from Hafiz Sahib. I have lot of stories to tell about Hafiz Sahib but one thing I will never forget is his smiling face. May he keep smiling till the Big Day and beyond it.

As a way of doing Isal-e-Sawab for Hafiz Fateh Muhammad Sahib (May Allah have mercy on him), I wish to start summarising the theme of the study circle in one line or a few worda every day. If anyone wants to join me, or add on to what I will be posting here, please free to do so.
May Allah give me the Tawfiq (Ameen)

That’s a very timely study circle. As an ummah we really need to come closer to the Quran as much as we can.

Can someone please help…..
I went to the mosque today to take part in the tafseer/tajweed study circle yet was informed that this does not take place????
March 4th, 2009 at 12:47 pm
The circle is still taking place – rather than tajweed and tafseer it has been replaced by a short talk on the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) for the first 12 days of Rabi-uk-Awwal, and after this it should resume as before, insha Allah.
For sisters who want to attend then they are more than welcome – we have had very little interest from sisters so far but for those who want to attend it may be better to drop us an e-mail before hand so we can arrange that the sisters entrance is open – otherwise just turn up early to Isha prayer and someone will arrange this.

I think Hafiz Asim is away today so the circle won’t be happening – its best if you send an e-mail direct to the mosque e-mail and we will update you insha Allah.
