The practice of milad un nabi is bidah, no companions practiced it, kindly refrain from practicing it.

Sallam Brother and Sisters,
Allah sends down his blessings on the Prophet, and His Angles constantly invoke His blessings on him; do you, O believers, also invoke Allah’s blessings on him and offer him the salutation of peace.’ (33:57)
Milad un Nabi is the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal of the Islamic lunar calendar year. For Muslims, this date marks the most important event in the history of the mankind because the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is regarded as the Chief of the Prophet, to whom the Holy Quran was revealed.
I advise to you please do not listen to Zak because what he has said is wrong!!
Please visit this website if you need an explaination about why MILAD UN NABI is celebrated.
